Do you use those hot pillows that are filled with wheat or some other grain? You heat them in the microwave and put them on your aching shoulders or back.
Well I read a tip about these on the Natural Holistic Health blog today. The writer says that using flax seeds to fill them is much better, .”..due to heat retention, long-lasting heat use after use, neutral smell, high moisture content and in how it contours to your body, unlike the inferior alternative fillings.”
She also gives the best herbs to add if insomnia is your problem. If you don’t want to make a pillow yourself you could just open one up and add the herbs or put a pillow case on your pillow and put the herbs inside the pillow case. That way you can add fresh ones from time to time.
This is her insomnia recommendation in case you want to try it:
“We all know that a good night’s rest is essential to good health and an Insomnia Blend herbal pillow can help you more easily attain that restful sleep we all require. A relaxing blend of pure Flax Seed, Organic Lavender, Hops and Chamomile flowers; Ylang Ylang, Lavender, Chamomile and Clary Sage essential oils produces a calming, soothing aroma to help you fall asleep more quickly.”
If you try it let us know how it went.
